Roland Bless started to study Informatics at the
University of Karlsruhe in 1990 and finished 1996 with
the diploma degree Dipl.-Inform. Since 1996 he is a
research assistant at the Institute of Telematics at
the University of Karlsruhe. In February 2002 he got
his doctoral degree Dr.-Ing. for his dissertation
about "Integrated Management of QoS-based
Communication Services in the Internet".
In May 2009 he finished his Habilitation. His research
interests are Quality-of-Service, QoS management,
Network Virtualization, New Internet Architectures, Multicast, Mobility and QoS
Signaling as well as application of practical security
techniques and IPv6. He is actively participating in IETF
Working Groups brought parts of
his work into the IETF standardization process.
Dr. Bless is also a member of ACM, IEEE and the German
Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI).
